Asian blepharoplasty

Asian blepharoplasty, also known as “westernization of the eyes”, involves re-shaping the skin around the eyes. This is commonly referred to as “eye debridement”.

The goal of the procedure is to create an upper eyelid with a crease in an eyelid that does not have one. Anatomically, the upper eyelids of patients of Asian descent are relatively unique compared to those of other ethnic types.

Besides the fact that there are Asian individuals with a double eyelid and others without, there are also variations in the position of the upper eyelid crease. This can vary from 1mm to 10mm above the lash line.

Various methods, including full incision, partial incision or no incision, can be used to create the double eyelid. They depend on the patient’s anatomy and wishes.

Although there is a risk of complications, the procedure is relatively safe and harmless if performed by a skilled surgeon.

DURATION OF INTERVENTION: 1 hour under local anesthesia
REPETITION / SUSTAINABILITY: For life
Local anesthesia
RETURN TO DAILY LIFE: 7 days
FINAL RESULT: visible after one month, final after 3 months

After the operation, the practitioner places ice packs on the eyelids to quickly remove any edema and bruising. It takes about eight days before resuming normal activities and seeing properly.

The stitches are removed within five days of the operation. The scars are discreet because they are hidden in the newly created eyelid folds.
